Our founder has successfully assist her daughter in the application of The Hotchkiss School and University of Chicago

Julie Yu

Julie Yu grew up in the United States and earned her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC).

Prior to starting Nova Academy, her career included holding top leadership positions from various renowned global firms, including AIG and Standard Chartered Bank, as well as having experiences in PwC (a big four accounting firm) and US bank (formerly known as Union Bank).

Being a Certified Public Accountant from the State of California, broker license holder, and US National ranked badminton player, she brings leadership and life lessons from her diverse experiences into her teaching.

A legacy of excellence

With an overall GPA of 4.0 consecutively, Julie’s daughter, Megan, is currently in a pre-law track with a double major in Political Science and Economics in the University of Chicago.
Prior to college, Megan attended the Hotchkiss School, one of the top boarding schools in the US.

UChicago consistently ranked top 10 university globally, ranked among the top three pre-law programs, the top three law schools in the US, and the best Economics programs according to US News’ Best Undergraduate Economic Programs.

Julie has successfully managed Megan’s applications to be accepted by the Hotchkiss and UChicago.

Julie emphasizes the importance of early learning, drawing from her experience raising Megan, whose strong foundation led to top grades, including several A+ in college. To her, character development is just as crucial as academic success.
