Julie

Julie grew up in the United States and earned her Master’s degree from the University of Southern California (USC).

Prior to starting Nova Academy, her career included holding top leadership positions from various renowned global firms, including AIG and Standard Chartered Bank, as well as having experiences in PwC (a big four accounting firm) and US bank (formerly known as Union Bank).

Being a Certified Public Accountant from the State of California, broker license holder, and US National ranked badminton player, she brings leadership and life lessons from her diverse experiences into her teaching.

Her track history of personal achievement proven that she has succeeded in bringing herself into a successful life. Through Nova Academy, she is ready to duplicate her success story to all of her students.

A legacy of excellence

With multiple quarters earning a 4.0 GPA, Julie’s daughter, Megan, is currently pursuing a pre-law track with a double major in Political Science and Economics at the University of Chicago.

Before college, Megan attended The Hotchkiss School, one of the most prestigious boarding schools in the U.S., and prior to that, she studied at Taipei American School from KA through middle school.

The University of Chicago is consistently ranked among the top 10 universities globally, and is recognized by U.S. News & World Report for having one of the top three pre-law programs, top three law schools, and the best undergraduate Economics program in the U.S.

Julie personally oversaw Megan’s entire academic journey and successfully managed her applications to both Hotchkiss and UChicago.

In addition to being academically accomplished, she is actively involved in community service, has held several leadership positions in school clubs, is a concert pianist who has performed at Carnegie Hall, and serves as the captain of the Hotchkiss golf team.

Julie emphasizes the importance of early learning, drawing from her experience raising Megan, whose strong foundation led to top grades, including several A+ in college. To her, character development is just as crucial as academic success.
